  • All students need to have a library bag or waterproof bag to borrow books.
  • Overdue notices will go out once per term. Please see library staff or send a note in if you believe the books have been returned. Thank You.

Borrowing Rules / Locations

Kindergarten - borrow from Junior Fiction and selected information books only.

Years 1-2 borrow from Junior, middle fiction (if they can read them) and selected information books.

Years 3-6 borrow from all locations including Fiction; Middle Fiction; Junior Fiction;Graphic Novels; Fiction Picture Books;and Non Fiction.

Senior Fiction is for Yea 6 only . Year 5 may borrow with a letter from parents giving permission.

Premiers Reading Challenge

We will be participating in the Premier’s Reading Challenge in 2017.  Students who wish to participate will be setting a goal for reading towards the Premier’s Reading Challenge each term.  If a student does not wish to participate in the challenge, they will be setting a personal reading goal of books per term.  

  • The opening date for entering books online is 6th March 2017.
  • The closing date is 25th August 2017.

Please be aware that if a student participates in the Premier’s Reading Challenge they will receive a certificate with their full name printed on it and their name may appear on the honour roll.

Book Club

Thank you for your support of Scholastic and Red Gum Book Clubs. Both Book Clubs earn points to purchase books for the Waniora School Library.

 

Carnival Book Fair in May

Waniora School Library will be holding a book fair on Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th May.  We are trialing Carnival Book Fairs this year instead of Scholastic. Further information will be available closer to the date.

CODING: Only students participating in coding can use the computers on Monday.

Other students are welcome to read, draw and colour.

RULES:

  • Log off computers when finished.  (Don’t just turn screen off/ask for help if you need it)
  • Tuck chairs in
  • Only play approved games – eg. Cool math games or do work.
  • If you see anything online that upsets you, tell a teacher immediately.

All students are welcome in the library to read, draw, colour and play quietly.
